Brighten up your day with Yuyu
By Anna | April 12, 2012
The philosophy behind design company Yuyu is to create work that will brighten your day. What can I say? It works for me.
Soon to be married Leeds couple Julie-Anne Hughes and Mark MeKeown are behind Yuyu {such a cute name, right?}. I first saw their work at the Affordable Vintage Fair.
Julie-Anne said: “We like to add a splash of colour to everything we make, and while we can’t make the sun shine we think one of our goodies will brighten anyone’s day.”
Julie-Anne and Mark combine backgrounds in textile and graphic design and say they are influenced by the 70s patterns they grew up with.
They make greetings cards, wrapping paper and gift bags along with limited edition screen prints, textiles and home accessories. The products are sold through independent retailers in the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA and they undertake freelance commissions and license Yuyu designs for a range of different products.
