DIY chunky chain pink resin jewellery
By Anna | September 11, 2012
You may have seen this outfit post yesterday in which I wore a necklace and bracelet I made from chunky pink plastic chain.
I’ve been an admirer of bright, bold jewellery pieces like this for some time.
{1: Adia Kibur at Shopbop; 2: Adia Kibur at Shopbop; 3: Belle Plage; 4: Tory Burch at Nordstrom}
However some of these necklaces had a price tag of £100 and more.
The answer? To make my own, of course!
I bought the chain in a metre length from 18items at Etsy. It was just over £5 including postage and there are lots of colours to choose from.
The carabiners I bought on eBay and they were £3.99 for 10.
You can just make the chain the length you want by pulling it apart at the links. I used a 20cm length of chain for the bracelet while the necklace was 50cm long.
You simply attach the carabiner at one end of the chain, wrap it round your neck or wrist then snap the carabiner into the last link at the opposite end.
Very easy!
Are you a fan of chunky chain jewellery like I am? What do you think to this project ~ are you tempted to have a go at making your own?
